Olive

This piece is aptly named because it’s the state of South Carolina’s shell, the olive. My friend and I went shelling on the beach and found several of these. It was so lustrous that I had to create something that would show its natural beauty. I bead worked a spiral for the shell and used half hard twisted 14 kt. Gold wire to wrap the shell.

Materials: olive shell vintage beads beading thread gold wire clasp jump rings.

Techniques: beaded spiral beadweaving wire wrapping
