Honouring the Button

This is a simple necklace, made from a crocheted chain and a beautiful button that I salvaged from a box of vintage buttons that my mother collected over the years.

The necklace has received many compliments – it’s all about the button!
I have also double-wrapped the chain and worn it as a bracelet.

I’m so glad you honored the button! I was at my mom’s house about a year ago, only shortly after I had begun making jewelry and seed bead weaving. She presented to me a box and a bag of gorgeous, antique, vintage buttons. Brass, pearl, wooden, crocheted, silver, you name it! They are gorgeous! I went through that stash like a ravenous dog! Lol! I used several of the brass ones on some seed bead bracelets. They are gorgeous. Your bracelet is lovely, and very unique. Yes, the wooden button really makes a statement. Very nice!

Yep! Lol!
I forgot to mention, that she also gave me several pairs of my grandmother’s old earrings. The old clip on and screw on types. They are gorgeous Bronzes, antique-finished silvers, and some of the prettiest little faux stones!, flowers, etc. I took some of them and clipped off the old back. I used jump rings and ear wires, added some bicones dangling here and there, and repurposed them into some gorgeous earrings! And it was a lot of fun, and now I’m so pleased that I can wear my grandma’s earrings!
