Cold Mountain Jasper necklace

This necklace is made with an amazing stone I found from one of my artisan stone cutters. It has inclusions that make it so you can actually see into the stone! Amazing stuff. Check it out here:

Normally when you see a viking knit chain necklace on one of my pieces, it was made specifically for that pendant. This isn’t the case with this one. I recently bought some bronze wire because a customer wanted an order done with it, so I ordered a couple of sizes to try it out. I am pretty sure I’m a sucker for punishment, because not only did I try out viking knitting bronze wire for the first time, but I made a necklace length double knit with it. I find it about the same as brass, maybe a tiny bit softer. After I made the pendant, I was going to make a round suede or rectangular raw leather cord for it, but then I had the idea to try this chain, and that was that.

Materials: cold mountain jasper bronze wire 28g bronze wire 20g bronze wire 18g bronze wire

Techniques: viking knit hammered clasp hammered end caps wire weaving wire wrapping wire coiling

A flower does not compete with the beauty around it, it just blooms.
