Collaboration Creation #6 #1: Holiday Sweets

We’ve had a little collaborating happening behind the scenes. One of our members had a great idea and, well, here we go! I hope you will join us for the fun.

Do you remember those candy necklaces we used to buy as kids, that came on a stretchy cord?

Well, it got Terrie thinking …. “a really FUN collaboration would be to make a piece of jewelry COMPLETELY out of candy … any candy of your choice. Something totally edible (Unless you want to allow them to use stretchy cord, or elastic thread, or something. A piece of string licorice could be used for those who want to be total purists).”

So there you have it: a necklace made out of candy. Who’s up for the challenge?

Terrie ...

haha! Thanks, Deb. This one should be FUN! Lots of Christmas candy, etc., on the shelves right now … it’ll be fun to make it colorful, and EDIBLE!
Just a reminder to take a photo BEFORE you bite into it! LOL!

Have fun, everyone!

Cheryl Lojewski ...

Ha Ha….now that’s a challenge! Can’t wait to see what people come up with!

Terrie ...

What?! You mean YOU’re not going to enter something?l C’mon, Cheryl … be brave … be very brave! LOL!

Cheryl Lojewski ...

I’m still trying to think of something. lol

Marta ...

This would be a hard one!

Terrie ...

Really, Marta? I was thinking it’d be easy. I mean …. we’re not making masterpieces here …. they’re consumable/edible/perishable items. I was thinking things like string licorice, LifeSavers to string, any candy that has a hole in it, or even stringing your favorites onto a piece of string licorice or even stretchy elastic bracelet cording, using a large-holed craft needle, or something. I don’t know … I just thought it’d be fun (and we get to eat the left overs! Yay!)
Understand, mind you, I’m not even much of a candy eater. LOL! But I thought this would be cute at Christmas time, with ALLLL the varieties of candy that are on the shelves right now. I’m thinking I’ll buy a bag of Kisses and some other colorful Christmas candy, and see where it takes me.
I’ve done (almost exclusively) seed beading/bead weaving, for the last 18 mos, or so. Haven’t done much stringing, at all. So it’ll require me to utilize those skills and tools again. Looking forward to it … IF I can just get past some of these UFOs that are on my work desk, and get my space organized again. LOL!

Marta ...

Terrie you are a lot more creative than I! Lol!

Debbie Pribele ...

I see some fun competition forming - perhaps we WILL see some masterpieces here!!

And — I think this might be an annual event that keeps on getting better and better!!
Thanks for the idea, Terrie

Terrie ...

You are very welcome, Debbie! It does sound like fun. Hey, it’s candy. What’s not fun about that?! :-)

Debbie Pribele ...
