How to remove sharp points from back of pin

Forum: Jewelry Making Tools and Supplies

I’m new and need help, please. I have a pin that’s about 2 inches in diameter that has two sharp points on the back where those little round squeeze fasteners go to wear the pin.

I want to remove the points off the back of the pin so I can glue it to a canvas travel bag. I’m not sure how to get them off without hurting the pin. Should I just use wire cutters to get the big part off and then my Dremel tool to grind down the little mounds where the pins were soldered on?

I’ve attached photos of the front and back of the pin.

Also, I did a lot of research for the best glue to affix this pin to a canvas travel bag. I came up with Beacon Gem-Tac Permanent Adhesive as the best for this purpose.

Is that a good choice? The other choice was a Loctite Super Glue Gel, but reviewers said Gem-Tac was better.

Any help y’all can give me will be very much appreciated.
